# TimeLapse vs Video Speed Changer

The clearest difference is rating: Video Speed Changer at 4.7 against TimeLapse's 2.3. Video Speed Changer also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 18). TimeLapse's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimeLapse sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Video Speed Changer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Speed Changer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Speed Changer has 1.4K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of TimeLapse's written reviews are positive against 34% of Video Speed Changer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TimeLapse ships an update every 3 weeks, Video Speed Changer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
