# PenaltyTimer vs Trackkarma

The clearest difference is price: Trackkarma at Free against PenaltyTimer's $1.99. Trackkarma also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 8 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). PenaltyTimer's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and chart position (#34 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Trackkarma is free to download; PenaltyTimer costs $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Trackkarma holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PenaltyTimer has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PenaltyTimer ships an update every 8 months, Trackkarma every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
