# WeatherLCD vs DayLight

The clearest difference is price: DayLight at Free against WeatherLCD's $0.99. DayLight also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (218 vs 8). WeatherLCD's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 45%) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

DayLight is free to download; WeatherLCD costs $0.99 up front. DayLight sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. WeatherLCD asks for nothing beyond the download.

DayLight holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DayLight has 218 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of WeatherLCD's written reviews are positive against 45% of DayLight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WeatherLCD ships an update every 5 months, DayLight every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
