# textPlus vs Hushed

The clearest difference is ads: Hushed at none against textPlus's shown. Hushed also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). textPlus's advantage is ratings volume (272K vs 23K). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. textPlus sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Hushed sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for textPlus against 4.6 for Hushed. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: textPlus has 272K ratings behind it against 23K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 41% of textPlus's written reviews are positive against 42% of Hushed's.

textPlus ships an update monthly, Hushed fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
