# TextNow vs RankedApp

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: RankedApp at none against TextNow's 17. RankedApp also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 days). TextNow's advantage is ratings volume (927K vs 3) and chart position (#9 vs unranked). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextNow sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. RankedApp asks for nothing beyond the download.

RankedApp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextNow has 927K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TextNow ships an update every 6 days, RankedApp every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and June 10, 2026 respectively.
