# Smooth Player vs 80s Radio+

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 80s Radio+ at 94% against Smooth Player's 67%. 80s Radio+ also leads on ratings volume (5K vs 72) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Smooth Player's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smooth Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 80s Radio+ has 5K ratings behind it against 72, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Smooth Player's written reviews are positive against 94% of 80s Radio+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Smooth Player ships an update monthly, 80s Radio+ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
