# Smooth Player vs Oldies Radio+

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Oldies Radio+ at 97% against Smooth Player's 67%. Oldies Radio+ also leads on ratings volume (20K vs 72) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Smooth Player's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smooth Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Oldies Radio+ has 20K ratings behind it against 72, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Smooth Player's written reviews are positive against 97% of Oldies Radio+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Smooth Player ships an update monthly, Oldies Radio+ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
