# Alarm.com vs HAVEN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Alarm.com at free against HAVEN's paid. Alarm.com also leads on ratings volume (141K vs 376) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Alarm.com against 4.8 for HAVEN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alarm.com has 141K ratings behind it against 376, so its average is the more settled of the two.
