# ÖBB Scotty vs Westbahn

The clearest difference is rating: Westbahn at 4.3 against ÖBB Scotty's 2.9. Westbahn also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 6 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.7). ÖBB Scotty's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 30%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Westbahn holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of ÖBB Scotty's written reviews are positive against 30% of Westbahn's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ÖBB Scotty ships an update every 6 months, Westbahn every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
