# ÖBB Scotty vs RegioJet

The clearest difference is rating: RegioJet at 4.7 against ÖBB Scotty's 2.9. RegioJet also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (773 vs 11). ÖBB Scotty's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (48% vs 28%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RegioJet holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RegioJet has 773 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of ÖBB Scotty's written reviews are positive against 28% of RegioJet's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ÖBB Scotty ships an update every 6 months, RegioJet every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
