# MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps vs Sygic

MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps and Sygic both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 55% of MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps's written reviews are positive against 41% of Sygic's. MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps also leads on chart position (#13 vs #130). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Sygic sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $12.49 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sygic holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 30K and 57K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps's written reviews are positive against 41% of Sygic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
