# SMS Export vs Just Press Record

The clearest difference is rating: Just Press Record at 4.3 against SMS Export's 3.0. Just Press Record also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 44 months) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 157). SMS Export's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 63%) and price ($4.99 vs $6.99). On ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

SMS Export costs $4.99 and Just Press Record $6.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Just Press Record holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just Press Record has 1.5K ratings behind it against 157, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of SMS Export's written reviews are positive against 63% of Just Press Record's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SMS Export ships an update every 44 months, Just Press Record every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
