# Flight Update Pro vs Flight Tracker Expert

The clearest difference is monetization model: Flight Tracker Expert at free with in-app purchases against Flight Update Pro's subscription. Flight Tracker Expert also leads on review sentiment (79% vs 59%) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 16.6). Flight Update Pro's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and chart position (#67 vs unranked). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight Update Pro sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Flight Tracker Expert sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flight Update Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5.3K and 2.6K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Flight Update Pro's written reviews are positive against 79% of Flight Tracker Expert's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flight Update Pro ships an update monthly, Flight Tracker Expert every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
