# Flight Update Pro vs PlanesFYI

The clearest difference is rating: Flight Update Pro at 4.5 against PlanesFYI's 3.0. Flight Update Pro also leads on ratings volume (5.3K vs 2) and chart position (#65 vs unranked). PlanesFYI's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 59%) and in-app purchases (none vs 11). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight Update Pro sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. PlanesFYI asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flight Update Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flight Update Pro has 5.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Flight Update Pro's written reviews are positive against 100% of PlanesFYI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
