# SmartGuide travel guide & map vs Mexplor

The clearest difference is update cadence: Mexplor at daily against SmartGuide travel guide & map's fortnightly. Mexplor also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.6). SmartGuide travel guide & map's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 1) and chart position (#196 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmartGuide travel guide & map sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Mexplor sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mexplor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartGuide travel guide & map has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SmartGuide travel guide & map ships an update fortnightly, Mexplor daily. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
