# Equinox+ vs Playbypoint

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Playbypoint at none against Equinox+'s 1. Equinox+'s advantage is ratings volume (44K vs 4.3K) and review sentiment (28% vs 18%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Equinox+ sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $39.99 per month. Playbypoint asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Equinox+ against 4.7 for Playbypoint. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Equinox+ has 44K ratings behind it against 4.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 28% of Equinox+'s written reviews are positive against 18% of Playbypoint's.

Equinox+ ships an update fortnightly, Playbypoint every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
