# HVAC Formulator vs Notable

The clearest difference is price: Notable at Free against HVAC Formulator's $4.99. Notable also leads on rating (4.5 vs 2.0) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Notable is free to download; HVAC Formulator costs $4.99 up front. HVAC Formulator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notable sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notable holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notable has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HVAC Formulator ships an update every 2 months, Notable every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
