# Guru Maps vs Plot Routes

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Guru Maps at 76% against Plot Routes's 0%. Guru Maps also leads on ratings volume (2.9K vs 1) and chart position (#141 vs unranked). Plot Routes's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guru Maps sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Plot Routes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plot Routes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guru Maps has 2.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Guru Maps's written reviews are positive against 0% of Plot Routes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Guru Maps ships an update fortnightly, Plot Routes every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
