# Transition vs The Press

The clearest difference is rating: The Press at 4.6 against Transition's 1.7. The Press also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (259 vs 74). Transition's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Press sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Transition asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Press holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 74 and 259 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Transition's written reviews are positive against 6% of The Press's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
