# MURAL vs El Universal Edición Digital

The clearest difference is monetization model: MURAL at free with in-app purchases against El Universal Edición Digital's subscription. MURAL also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). El Universal Edición Digital's advantage is review sentiment (27% vs 18%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MURAL sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and El Universal Edición Digital sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MURAL ships an update every 3 weeks, El Universal Edición Digital every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
