# radio GOLD vs MFR

The clearest difference is rating: MFR at 4.8 against radio GOLD's 3.3. MFR also leads on update cadence (every 4 months vs every 46 months). radio GOLD's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MFR holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 14 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of radio GOLD's written reviews are positive against 64% of MFR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

radio GOLD ships an update every 46 months, MFR every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
