# Official Comic vs ScareScore

The clearest difference is rating: ScareScore at 4.0 against Official Comic's 3.1. ScareScore also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Official Comic's advantage is ratings volume (459 vs 2) and review sentiment (18% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ScareScore holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Official Comic has 459 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Official Comic's written reviews are positive against 0% of ScareScore's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Official Comic ships an update every 3 months, ScareScore every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
