# CHMate+ vs PDF Edit Reader

The clearest difference is price: PDF Edit Reader at Free against CHMate+'s $9.99. PDF Edit Reader also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 26.0). CHMate+'s advantage is rating (3.8 vs 2.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

PDF Edit Reader is free to download; CHMate+ costs $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CHMate+ holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CHMate+ has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CHMate+ ships an update fortnightly, PDF Edit Reader every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
