# LastPass Password Manager vs PassGuard

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PassGuard at 100% against LastPass Password Manager's 40%. PassGuard also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). LastPass Password Manager's advantage is ratings volume (57K vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LastPass Password Manager sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $35.99 per year and PassGuard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.19 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PassGuard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LastPass Password Manager has 57K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of LastPass Password Manager's written reviews are positive against 100% of PassGuard's.

LastPass Password Manager ships an update fortnightly, PassGuard every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
