# iSpellBetter vs Spelling Bee

The clearest difference is rating: Spelling Bee at 4.6 against iSpellBetter's 3.3. Spelling Bee also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 21 months) and ratings volume (788 vs 7). iSpellBetter's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and review sentiment (60% vs 40%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Spelling Bee holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spelling Bee has 788 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of iSpellBetter's written reviews are positive against 40% of Spelling Bee's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
