# Mechanical Engineer vs AROai

The clearest difference is rating: AROai at 5.0 against Mechanical Engineer's 4.4. AROai also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months). Mechanical Engineer's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mechanical Engineer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and AROai sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AROai holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mechanical Engineer has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mechanical Engineer ships an update every 2 months, AROai every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
