# Timestamp It vs Annotate

The clearest difference is ads: Timestamp It at none against Annotate's shown. Timestamp It also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (5.5K vs 3). Annotate's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timestamp It sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Annotate sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Annotate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timestamp It has 5.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Timestamp It ships an update every 3 days, Annotate every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
