# Flickr vs PhotobySearch!

The clearest difference is rating: Flickr at 4.5 against PhotobySearch!'s 4.0. Flickr also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 7) and chart position (#156 vs unranked). PhotobySearch!'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flickr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $11.00 per month. PhotobySearch! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flickr holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flickr has 15K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Flickr's written reviews are positive against 72% of PhotobySearch!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flickr ships an update fortnightly, PhotobySearch! every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
