# Flickr vs Photer

The clearest difference is rating: Photer at 5.0 against Flickr's 4.5. Photer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (100% vs 70%). Flickr's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 7) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flickr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $11.00 per month. Photer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Photer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flickr has 15K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Flickr's written reviews are positive against 100% of Photer's.

Flickr ships an update every 2 weeks, Photer every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
