# The perfect Egg timer vs Egg Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Egg Timer at free against The perfect Egg timer's paid. Egg Timer also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 9 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). The perfect Egg timer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (63% vs 33%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Egg Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3.
