Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: LUZ at Free against RGB Light's $0.99. LUZ also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.0) and update cadence (monthly vs every 61 months). RGB Light's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (25% vs 7%). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

LUZ holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LUZ has 139 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of RGB Light's written reviews are positive against 7% of LUZ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

RGB Light ships an update every 61 months, LUZ monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
