# Time Timer vs Chromatic Vision Simulator

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Chromatic Vision Simulator at none against Time Timer's 1. Chromatic Vision Simulator also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 63%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Time Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (15K vs 58). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Timer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.95 per year. Chromatic Vision Simulator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Time Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Time Timer has 15K ratings behind it against 58, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Time Timer's written reviews are positive against 85% of Chromatic Vision Simulator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Time Timer ships an update every 2 weeks, Chromatic Vision Simulator every 11 months. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
