# Time Timer vs Gauge

The clearest difference is rating: Gauge at 5.0 against Time Timer's 4.6. Time Timer's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 1) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Timer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.95 per year and Gauge sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gauge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Time Timer has 15K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Time Timer ships an update every 2 weeks, Gauge weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
