# m.HKUST vs iSearch Science

The clearest difference is rating: iSearch Science at 3.2 against m.HKUST's 1.0. iSearch Science also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (13 vs 1). m.HKUST's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and review sentiment (100% vs 84%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iSearch Science sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. m.HKUST asks for nothing beyond the download.

iSearch Science holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iSearch Science has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of m.HKUST's written reviews are positive against 84% of iSearch Science's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

m.HKUST ships an update every 7 months, iSearch Science every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
