# m.HKUST vs USThing

The clearest difference is review sentiment: m.HKUST at 100% against USThing's 44%. m.HKUST also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.4). USThing's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 1.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

USThing holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of m.HKUST's written reviews are positive against 44% of USThing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

m.HKUST ships an update every 7 months, USThing fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
