# Spyglass vs Compass 54 Lite

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Compass 54 Lite at none against Spyglass's 4. Compass 54 Lite also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Spyglass's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 48%) and ratings volume (3.9K vs 1). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spyglass sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Compass 54 Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

Compass 54 Lite holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spyglass has 3.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Spyglass's written reviews are positive against 48% of Compass 54 Lite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spyglass ships an update every 6 weeks, Compass 54 Lite every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
