# Scanner Pro vs Secure Scanner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Scanner Pro at 78% against Secure Scanner's 50%. Scanner Pro also leads on ratings volume (337K vs 49) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). Secure Scanner's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scanner Pro sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Secure Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scanner Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scanner Pro has 337K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Scanner Pro's written reviews are positive against 50% of Secure Scanner's.

Scanner Pro ships an update fortnightly, Secure Scanner every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
