# SOOP vs SBS

The clearest difference is rating: SOOP at 4.2 against SBS's 1.8. SOOP also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks) and review sentiment (34% vs 17%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SOOP sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per month and SBS sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SOOP holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SOOP has 768 ratings behind it against 102, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 34% of SOOP's written reviews are positive against 17% of SBS's.

SOOP ships an update every 4 days, SBS every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
