# NASA vs MetaWear

The clearest difference is ratings volume: NASA at 64K against MetaWear's 1. NASA also leads on review sentiment (70% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MetaWear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NASA has 64K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of NASA's written reviews are positive against 50% of MetaWear's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NASA ships an update every 2 weeks, MetaWear every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
