# Newser vs Daily Beast

The clearest difference is rating: Daily Beast at 4.8 against Newser's 2.4. Daily Beast also leads on ratings volume (7.7K vs 107) and chart position (#96 vs unranked). Newser's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Daily Beast sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Newser asks for nothing beyond the download.

Daily Beast holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Daily Beast has 7.7K ratings behind it against 107, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Newser's written reviews are positive against 32% of Daily Beast's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
