# CHMate vs Lazy FB2 Reader

The clearest difference is rating: CHMate at 3.9 against Lazy FB2 Reader's 3.3. CHMate also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (20 vs 3). Lazy FB2 Reader's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (86% vs 55%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CHMate sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Lazy FB2 Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

CHMate holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CHMate has 20 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of CHMate's written reviews are positive against 86% of Lazy FB2 Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CHMate ships an update every 2 weeks, Lazy FB2 Reader every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
