# Victory Shield vs True Solar Time

The clearest difference is rating: Victory Shield at 4.3 against True Solar Time's 3.9. Victory Shield also leads on ratings volume (60K vs 15) and chart position (#37 vs unranked). True Solar Time's advantage is review sentiment (54% vs 27%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Victory Shield sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and True Solar Time sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Victory Shield holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Victory Shield has 60K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Victory Shield's written reviews are positive against 54% of True Solar Time's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
