# Pure GPS vs GPS Route Maps

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pure GPS at none against GPS Route Maps's 3. Pure GPS also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.0). GPS Route Maps's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (859 vs 100). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Route Maps sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Pure GPS asks for nothing beyond the download.

GPS Route Maps holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Route Maps has 859 ratings behind it against 100, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Pure GPS's written reviews are positive against 67% of GPS Route Maps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pure GPS ships an update monthly, GPS Route Maps every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
