# Backgammon ∙ vs Backgammon ▽▲

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Backgammon ∙ at none against Backgammon ▽▲'s 1. Backgammon ∙ also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 12 months). Backgammon ▽▲'s advantage is review sentiment (35% vs 26%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon ▽▲ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Backgammon ∙ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Backgammon ∙ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon ∙ has 78K ratings behind it against 4.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Backgammon ∙'s written reviews are positive against 35% of Backgammon ▽▲'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon ∙ ships an update every 4 months, Backgammon ▽▲ every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
