# GPSnote vs Mappy Navigator

The clearest difference is rating: Mappy Navigator at 5.0 against GPSnote's 2.8. Mappy Navigator also leads on update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). GPSnote's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (12 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mappy Navigator sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. GPSnote asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mappy Navigator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPSnote has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GPSnote ships an update every 2 months, Mappy Navigator every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
