# WordPress vs Jot Writer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Jot Writer at 100% against WordPress's 37%. Jot Writer also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). WordPress's advantage is price (Free vs $1.99) and ratings volume (22K vs 1). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

WordPress is free to download; Jot Writer costs $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Jot Writer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordPress has 22K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of WordPress's written reviews are positive against 100% of Jot Writer's.

WordPress ships an update every 3 weeks, Jot Writer every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
