# New Year Countdown vs Year Countdown

The clearest difference is review sentiment: New Year Countdown at 100% against Year Countdown's 33%. Year Countdown's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 3.0) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

New Year Countdown costs $0.99 and Year Countdown $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Year Countdown holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of New Year Countdown's written reviews are positive against 33% of Year Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
