# Eternal Fire vs Modern Flames

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Eternal Fire at 66% against Modern Flames's 20%. Eternal Fire also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and device support (4 vs 2). Modern Flames's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 2.6) and monetization model (free vs paid). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Modern Flames holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 25 and 95 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Eternal Fire's written reviews are positive against 20% of Modern Flames's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Eternal Fire ships an update every 2 months, Modern Flames every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
