# Secret Browser vs Pure Web Browser

The clearest difference is rating: Secret Browser at 4.5 against Pure Web Browser's 4.1. Secret Browser also leads on ratings volume (2.5K vs 43). Pure Web Browser's advantage is iOS requirement (9.3 vs 13.5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secret Browser sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Pure Web Browser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secret Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secret Browser has 2.5K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Secret Browser's written reviews are positive against 76% of Pure Web Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secret Browser ships an update every 2 months, Pure Web Browser every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
