# Secret Browser vs Bookmarks

The clearest difference is ads: Bookmarks at none against Secret Browser's shown. Bookmarks also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months). Secret Browser's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 48%) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 190). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secret Browser sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Bookmarks sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Secret Browser against 4.4 for Bookmarks. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secret Browser has 2.5K ratings behind it against 190, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Secret Browser's written reviews are positive against 48% of Bookmarks's.

Secret Browser ships an update every 2 months, Bookmarks every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
